Presents the Reading Symphony Orchestra’s
10K/5K Race/Walk | 1 mile Fun Run
Sunday, April 30, 2017 | 10 a.m.
The Reading Symphony Orchestra will host this fun race, set to the music of Beethoven, on the beautiful campus of Alvernia University in Reading, PA on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. The downbeat of the FREE 60-minute concert by the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra will signal the start of the race. Participants have three different options for the event, a 10K Run, a 5K Run/Walk or a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. The challenge is to complete the course before the concert is finished. Registration starts at $25 and includes a Beat Beethoven! t-shirt, a wonderfully well-stocked gift bag, and post-race refreshments. The registration form is available at the bottom of this page. Participants who register by April 15 are guaranteed to receive their 2017 Beat Beethoven! t-shirts. T-shirts will be available only while supplies last to those who register after this date.
There will be pre-race festivities starting at 9:30 a.m. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and to be in place prior to the start of the Race and Concert. In case of rain, the RSYO will perform in the field house and be broadcast to the track. This fun event will benefit the Reading Symphony Orchestra, one of the oldest symphony orchestras in our country, as it prepares for its 105th Season of continuous musical performance. Your participation in this race will help support the Orchestra as well as challenge you to Beat Beethoven!
Not a runner? Consider walking the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk, which starts after the concert has finished.
